Family Therapy

The power of positive interactions amongst family members is foundational for emotional health and development of the individual within the family system. Family therapies are a strong component of our work at HOPE – Child and Family Counseling.

Child and Family interactive therapies are available to strengthen the parent/child bond and to develop more appropriate parental authority and healthier child responses through the use of play-based activities.

The counselors at HOPE share the belief that parents know their children best. We take a team approach with parents to guide and develop healthier parent/child interactions and to increase positive behaviors.

Our counselors use several therapeutic approaches to best meet the needs of your child including: Theraplay, Filial Play Therapy, Family Play Therapy, and more.

Family Therapy is utilized to guide couples, parents, and family members to increase healthier interactions and improve upon their family dynamics.

  • Family therapy is an avenue for improving communication and resolve conflicts.
  • Family therapy can soften the overall atmosphere of the home.
  • Family therapy sessions focus on developing interactional skills and increasing more appropriate and healthier relationships.

“Feelings of worth can flourish only in an atmosphere where individual differences are appreciated, mistakes are tolerated, communication is open, and rules are flexible – the kind of atmosphere that is found in a nurturing family.”  ~Virginia Satir
